VPMA and CAW Forge Partnership on Leadership Skills

The Veterinary Practice Management Association and The College of Animal Welfare (CAW) have put their heads together to promote two accredited qualifications in Leadership and Management, aimed at the veterinary sector. Delivered by the new CAW Business School, the ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management is aimed at those working in or aspiring to a leadership position within practice. The qualification is awarded by the Institute of Leadership & Management, and is set at the equivalent of ‘A’ level standard.  The ILM Level 5 Diploma is delivered to Foundation Degree level.

SPVS/VPMA Congress Delegates Support Animal Welfare Foundation

As the official charity for SPVS/VPMA Congress 2014 the Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) is pleased to announce that it will put the £1,822 it raised during the Congress’ Masquerade Ball towards production of its popular evidence-based pet care advice leaflets.

SPVS and VPMA to launch new magazine "Practice Life"

The two foremost UK vet business and management associations, SPVS and VPMA have combined efforts to produce a new magazine ‘Practice Life’ to be launched in late September. The editors, vet Stephanie Writer-Davies and practice manager Ian Wolstenholme promise something very fresh and new and, in line with the ethoses of both associations, aim to support those right at the grass roots of the profession.

Technology embraced with an eye on the pocket

The rapid evolution in veterinary technology and its potential to save vets time and money was highlighted at the second annual SPVS-VPMA Focus on Technology day on June 13th in Daventry. The emphasis of the day was how to harness digital tools to help drive profit and work efficiencies.
